My passion is to walk with people through the difficult times that life sometimes brings us. My goal is to provide a protected space where you can feel safe enough to open up and be heard and understood without judgement or shame. I have a heart for those who are hurting and believe that everyone has the ability for greater happiness and joy in their lives, no matter their current circumstances. Discovering the wounds of the past and learning how they affect the present can change how one chooses to live in the future. When you know who you are, you can achieve more in life.
I specialize in helping people navigate life, even when there are issues left over from a difficult or painful experience. I have extensive experience and training with women who have suffered from past sexual abuse and currently are experiencing anxiety and depression. I also am very qualified to work with couples who want to develop deeper and more loving emotional intimacy within their relationship, and families and groups that are in need of a safe space to learn to properly understand and communicate with each other.
I also love to work with young men and women facing the many challenges of navigating emerging adulthood in a world of comparison and confusion.
I have received specific training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and use this in conjunction with other traditional methods of therapy. EMDR is a therapeutic technique that helps people to heal from current negative emotions and symptoms connected to past trauma and wounds. EMDR can be used to treat PTSD, disturbing memories and phobias, and help to reduce stress and anxiety.
